This site was created by Vic Harkness. I’ve been volunteering in Ukraine since the start of March 2022, and have visited the country 20+ times in this capacity. During my time in the country I’ve heard the endless stories of heroism and events which have emerged since the start of the full-scale invasion. I decided that it would be worth preserving recollections of these stories, and people’s relationships with them. So, I spent 3 weeks in Ukraine with a recorder. During this time I spoke to a lot of people, and learned a ton of things. The project went off-track several times, speaking to people about their personal experiences during the war.
I hope that these interview transcripts are of interest to people! Whilst I’m hoping to write a paper (watch this space) on the information collected, I would also be thrilled to hear about other people making use of the information.
